Strain Your Wit

The shocking tragety of 911 was not only a disaster of lost lives and lost buildings because there were numerous wars, conflicts, diseases and natural catastrophies that took away more lives and caused more damages. What 911 really signified was a proclamation of militant Islam religion. It became ever clearer when the leaders of Al Queda called for global conversion to Islam in its broadcasting radio propaganda last week, just in time to rub into the painful 911 memories.

Before we may be too quick to dismiss such kind of vile use of media, I ask, "don't we as Christians have something to proclaim? Shouldn't we be the ones that call for global conversion to the truth, if indeed we believe Jesus's salvation and grace? Why are we often so timid in prolaiming the truth while the wicked are so bold in proclaiming falsehood?"

We proclaim Him (Jesus), admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone perfect in Jesus Christ. To this end I labor, struggling with all his energy, which so powerfully works in me. .... Now I rejoice in what was suffered for you, and I fill up in my flesh what is still lacking in regard to Christ's afflictions, for the sake of his body, which is the church. (1Colossians 1:28-29, 24)

The Lord always calls for bold proclamation of the truth and the life that can only be given in Christ Jesus -- not through militant power, but through diligent labor, self sacrifice and strained wisdom and creativity. To proclaim Jesus is not a hobby, but a living sacrifice of your time, your energy, your thoughts and even your tears. It demands the preoccupation of your life.
